Contest: Win Free John Abraham and Pam Anderson Posters (and Save the Planet)!
Wanna help the environment and help yourself to a couple of free posters? Well, you’ve come to the right place. In honour of World Environment Day, we’re giving you a chance to win posters of two of the sexiest vegetarians on earth: Pamela Anderson and John Abraham!
Why are we focusing on hot herbivores this Environment Day? Because vegetarians like Pam and John are helping to save the planet one veggie burger at a time. Yep, that’s right: ditching the meat, eggs and dairy is one of the single most effective things you can do to combat climate change. Which makes sense considering that, according to a 2006 United Nations report, raising animals for food creates more greenhouse gasses than
all trucks, cars, planes, and ships in the world combined.
Tons of other vegetarian celebrities have shot print ads and PSAs for PETA including legendary cricketer Anil Kumble, model Rajneesh Duggal (you’ve gotta check out his “Body by Bhendi” ad), “angelic” actor Mahima Choudhary, and “cagey” actor R. Madhavan.
When you have role models like these, you surely have a reason to pledge to become a vegetarian.
Speaking of good and good-looking role models—are you ready to try your luck at scoring some free posters of Pamela Anderson and John Abraham? Just leave a comment below by 15 June 2009 and you could be one of 20 lucky winners.
Remember: the prizes are being offered only to people who live in India. By leaving a comment, we'll take that to mean you have read and are agreeing to the following terms and conditions and privacy policy.

One can't eat meat call him/herself; I'm green & I care for our planet! Eating meat is the number 1 cause for global warming (PETA didn't say this, it's the UN!) so if you really wanna do something for the earth, help animals & put an end to world hunger - Go vegetarian TODAY!
When there are so many alternatives & wide options to choose, you can NEVER justify meat consumption. In countries like India, factory farms are the biggest polluters. (Of course, they have no animal welfare guide lines to protect these animals.)
what a great way to celebrate!!!!!! hoping we who strive so hard to bring around a change do....

Our planet is dying at our expense. It has the ability to fulfil our need, but not our greed. The Meat Industry today, is one of the top contributors towards global environmental problems that we all are facing.
People who are really concerned about nature conservation and the entire environment should "GO VEG". You going "green" will help in reducing the number of animals being slaughtered everyday. And that's not it, you yourself will feel a difference - your body, mind and soul will completely change for the better.
Promote Vegetarianism for a healthy today and a much healthier tomorrow !!
Wow A new Poster , I really want to get it.
Anyways I am personnaly a Vegetarian,i have stopped eating non veg from past 4 months, not even eggs.
It started when i went with mom to a butcher shop and saw a head of goat lying with blood smeared all over and eyes coming out. I vomitted after coming out from there. That picture comes to my mind whenever I see any non veg items.
Also I have come across a report that eating green vegetables makes you fit in Summers but regulating you digestive system and makes you able to tolerate heat, while non veg give you more heat and in summers could really upset your stomach.
Thanks a lot hope i win a poster.
World needs us....to be aware to be informed about the imbalance of the eco-logical balance..which we humans are creating by destroying the plant and animal life..!
We became aware to the scene when it comes to animals endangered or the global warming increased and stuff why don't we get this thing into our mind when it is in the process..??? I guess for this we at our own are responsible!
Joining Peta helped me to know the facts about the animal cruelty going on..and also made me aware about the advantages of being a Veggie...! i made my friends to read the stuff the leaflets brochures Peta sent me!
Thanks Peta guys for doing such a great job for our world...promoting a healthy lifestyle for those who can speak and understand as well as those who can not...
Hope Peta will make the whole world to join in for such noble cause..Thanks
Fingers crossed....
I’m vegetarian since I went on a trip to Ludhiana with my dad when I was 8 years old and "saw thousands of chickens being mercilessly slaughtered in the open markets and on the road".
The World Environment day is observed just once a year but with the right kind of agenda, awarenes and strategy, it can become a starting point from a where the world begins to be cleaner, purer and a better place to live in.
Today the way that we breed animals for food is a threat to planet. No doubt, we take so much for granted. The world we live in, the air that we breathe, the healthy rain and the sun, the food –even the sunset and sunrise. The results are disastrous…. !
Always remember, Eating Meat is Destroying the Environment. Friends, now its’ your turn. To do something for yourself, the planet and animals – Go Veg ! Only then:
You’ll feel Healthier, You’ll feel Happier !
1 litre of Animals' Milk costs Rs.18 in Bangalore. 1 litre of soya milk made at home costs less than Rs.6. [We can make 1 litre of soya milk from 100 g of soya beans, and 200 g soya bean pack costs Rs.10]
1 litre of soya milk has the same protein as 1 litre of undiluted animals' milk.
The cheapest source of calcium are Ragi (Nachni or Finger Millet or kezhvaragu - a kind of cereal) and greens. B Complex Syrup polybion is dirt cheap.
A Vegan life costs less, makes one healthy, helps earth and our fellow creatures.
I salute everyone who tries to do her/his bit to reduce suffering (giving up meat or eggs or milk or leather....)
Happy Birthday Ingrid (June 11)
i've been a vegeterian since birth ... have compleated hotel management and was so glad and am proud to say thst i was the only guy in ma collage who got permission from ma collage saying that i am a peta activist and had not even been in the kitchen when non veg was prepared .... and am sooo glad to be one such student ... and because of me i have made sure 19 of my juniurs also have the same previlage that i had ... and i had been working with niranjan for the past 2 years to do all possible things for anumal rights,,,,,, and will till my last breath and will ensure there is equal rights and importance given to animals as like human beings ...... because i feel animals are more sensible than human ourself.... coz they dont use other animals product like some non vegeterians ..... come on pple lets think and make this world go veg and make sure we are pure from heart ....
ptem
I turned veg after seeing my friend Niranjan helping for animals with so much determination. i thought why cant i even join him and thus started my journey towards vegeterianism. first it was difficult to avoid it, but one day as i was about to eat a piece of meat the scenes of poor animals slaughtered in the slaughter came to my imagination and i just left it at that.
turning veg is very easy now. all living creatures born on this earth have a right to live until they face their death naturally. but we humans to satisfy our needs kill these poor animals before they even start to see their world. we should save the eco-system rather than tampering it..
GO-VEG and see for yourself the changes and happiness in you.
I'm a pure veggie and didn't fall in the trap of friends to try out non-veg. When we have so many options, why meat. Also I'm fond of gardening and thereby grow plants. Let us build a place together to live healthy and green.
Have you ever, when you have small bruise or injury, thought about the insufferable pain of helpless and hapless animals when they are mercilessly slaughtered? Have you imagined the agony of being dumb and mute and defenseless like poor cows, goats and hen when the cruel and savage hands of man decimate it?
"You put a baby in a crib with an apple and a rabbit. If it eats the rabbit and plays with the apple, I'll buy you a new car." That is a wonderful line by Harvey Diamond... Goes to show that Humans are NOT hardwired to eat meat.
I dont think that I am so important that someone has to die for one second of taste.... Neither should you.
Try leaving off meat for a while... You'll see you feel younger, sharper and healthier. And your "Sins" counter in God's ledger will stop skyrocketing.
