PETA ASKS INDIA SKIPPER TO SKIP ANIMAL CRUELTY

In a letter to India Cricket Captain MS Dhoni, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals India (PETA) has condemned the captain's reported participation in a goat sacrifice during a thanksgiving ceremony in Silli temple at Ranchi.

PETA reports that its office has been flooded with calls from people across the country who are outraged by the cruel killing. In its letter to Dhoni, the group expresses concern that the cricketer's young fans might be inspired to perpetrate similar acts of cruelty and encourages the captain to use his influence to spread a message of compassion to young people.
