PETA India releases RESCUED CALENDAR 2007

Everybody loves a happy ending, and PETA India’s brand-new 2007 Rescued wall calendar is full of them. Every month tells the story of an animal rescued from despair and given a new lease on life and features a beautiful, full-colour portrait of the rescued animal.

TRIBUTE TO LEON IRELAND OF MOKSHA

We deeply regret the sudden demise of Leon Ireland, lead vocalist of Moksha. Because of his and other band members’ enthusiasm, Moksha helped spread the message of animal rights for petadishoom.com. We will sorely miss him and his compassion for animals.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to Leon’s family in this time of grief, and pray that they be blessed with courage and strength.

PETA Demonstrate outside KFC

Holding a sign that reads KFC tortures chickens and imprisoned in a cage, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, protested at Connaught Place, New Delhi on the 6th of December 2006. They were protesting the over-crowded and miserable conditions chickens killed for KFC are forced to endure. The protest is one of more than 12,000 that have occurred internationally since 2003 when PETA launched its campaign urging KFC to take steps to curb the worst abuses of its chickens.
